There are several estate planning tools that can be utilized to make decisions about your property when you are either temporarily or permanently unable to do so due to incapacitation:

§ Durable Power of Attorney for Property Management: This tool allows you to appoint an agent to make decisions about all of your assets (not just those in a trust) in the event you become incapacitated in the future. The agent's power can be broad or limited to certain types of property or decisions. The agent may be your spouse, a professional or a trusted friend.
